Catherine Annie LUSHER Born February 16, 1917 in Garfield, Utah - died December 28, 2004 at Bayview Manor in Seattle, Washington. Kay was a 53 year resident of Queen Anne and was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years Bill Lusher. She is survived by her sons Jerry (Gail), Farrell (Penny) and Emmett (Robbi); eight grandchildren Teri (Bob), Farrell (Tina), Chad (Lara), Jason, Kristen (Rich), Colleen (Robert), Heidi (Blake), Katie, and eight great-grandchildren Fran, Ras, Jon, J.B., Raphael, Carter, Megan and Gracelynn. She is also survived by her sister Tempest Benoit. Kay was raised in Butte, Montana where after High school she attended the Montana School of Mines and married Bill during the height of the depression. They moved to Seattle at the beginning of World War II. Kay was one of the first women promoted to supervisor at Boeing, from where she retired in the early 70s. Following her retirement, she joined her two eldest police officer sons in the employ of the King County Sheriff's Department, where she worked in Warrants and Communications sections. Kay and Bill enjoyed fishing, camping and socializing with friends. They loved to travel and made extensive road trips throughout the western U.S. and Canada. She took her final trip back to Butte with her sister, son and granddaughter in the summer of 2003. Although Kay often added one too many carrots to her spaghetti sauce, she always emphasized the importance of eating dessert before the main course. Kay was a charming and lovely woman who kept her own counsel and was adored by her family and all who knew her. Though no longer with us in body, her spirit will continue to warm our hearts. The family wishes to thank all of the staff at the Bayview Health center for your kind loving care of Catherine and a special thanks to Early, Andrew and Rob who never ran when they saw a Lusher coming down the hallway with just "one more" question or request. You all truly made a difficult time easier. Thank you. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday January 4, 2005, 2:00 pm at Bayview Manor Chapel, 11 West Aloha. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Bayview Manor Foundation or to Medic One.
