Harris Sumner
ELLWOOD CITY - Harris Sumner, 83, of 219 Second St. died at his home at 3 p.m. yesterday unexpectedly after being in ill health for several years.
He was born in Lawrence County on June 3, 1887 to the late Henry and Margaret Newton Sumner. He was retired March 10, 1941 from the National Tube Co. in Ellwood City.
Mr. Sumner was a member of Calvin United Presbyterian Church.
He was married to the former Emma Mae Lusher, who preceded him in death Feb. 8, 1957.
He is survived by a son, Dr. Harold Sumner of Ellwood City; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lawrence in 1969.
Friends will be received at the Harry N. Porter Funeral Home, 200 Fountain Ave. from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Kenneth C. Weber of Calvin United Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Emma Sumner Dies In Hospital
ELLWOOD CITY - Mrs. Emma Mae Lusher Sumner, 219 Second St., died this morning at 2 a.m. at Ellwood City General Hospital after a six month illness.
She was born at Sandy Lake, Mercer county in 1883, a daughter of David and Margaret Forbes Lusher, and has been a resident of Ellwood City for 60 years.
Mrs. Sumner is survived by her husband Harris Sumner and children Dr. Harold Sumner and Lawrence Sumner of Ellwood City. A brother, James L. Lusher, Ellwood three grandchildren.
Rev. Robert Rose will conduct the funeral services Sunday at 2 p.m. in J. I. Porter Funeral home with interment in Locust Grove cemetery.
Friends may call at the J. I. Porter Funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.

Emma M. Lusher of this city, and Harris Sumner of Hazel Dell, were united in marriage yesterday afternoon at the Baptist parsonage by the Rev. G. Morgan Davis. The contracting parties are well known and their many friends wish them much happiness.
