General Notes: Husband - William Howard Klepper

He began teaching school at the age of seventeen and taught eight years, after which he attended the Central State Normal School at Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, from which institution he graduated. He was ward principal in Lock Haven schools for fourteen years, which he resigned to become Deputy Sheriff. In 1908 he received the Democratic nomination for Sheriff and was elected over his Republican opponent by 442 majority, while Taft, for President, had nearly 1,000 majority. He belonged to the order of Odd Fellows and also the P. O. S. of A. He and his wife were members of the Lutheran Church, of which he served as Elder and Sunday-school Superintendent.
