General Notes: Husband - Lazarus Lowrey

He came from the north of Ireland and settled in Donegal, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, in 1729. He took up three hundred and thirty-three acres of land, later owned by the Hon. J. D. Cameron, about two miles from Marietta. He established a trading-post, and in 1730 took out a license to trade and also to sell liquor "by the small." His dwelling was still standing late in the 1800s. He was remarkable for his energy, industry, and courage. He made frequent trips to the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, taking his sons, James, John, Daniel, and Alexander, with him. He owned several small farms adjoining his first purchase. [HLC 1883, 17]

He came from North of Ireland, in 1729, and settled in Donegal, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He located on the celebrated farm known as "Donegal," later owned by Senator Cameron. This place passed into the hands of his son, Col. Alexander Lowrey.

He, with several elder children, came to America in 1729, and settled in Donegal township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. He became an Indian trader.

He settled in Donegal township, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and was licensed by the Court in 1730 to sell liquor by the small; and by the Governor; as an Indian trader, which latter occupation he pursued for a number of years thereafter. His sons, John and Daniel Lowery, were also Indian traders.
