General Notes: Husband - John Love

This surname, while it is not common, is yet found in widely separated parts of the United States. Seemingly, it was borne by a considerable number of Irish immigrants. The name, however, does not appear to be at all an old name in Ireland, and is really an English name.

He emigrated to America when nineteen years of age and settled in Center County, Pennsyl-vania. In 1800 he removed to Armstrong (now Clarion) County, where he purchased a large tract of land and engaged in farming until his death. He was an elder in the Covenanter Presbyterian church, and possessed one of the largest and best libraries in that section of the country, having brought many books with him from Ireland.

In his childhood, he came to America with an aunt; he came to Clarion township in 1800, and the next year built a cabin to which he brought his family. He owned about one hundred and ninety acres of land. At his death he was about ninety years old.
