He resided in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, for a short time after his marriage, and manufactured brooms. He removed to Manor township, and in 1882 sold his property and moved to his mother's farm in Valley township. In April, 1884, he moved back to a part of the Speer farm in Manor township.
