General Notes: Husband - Mason Shaw
He served in the Revolution as minute-man and officer. He was at the battle of Lexington and the siege of Boston. He was a captain of the Third Bristol Company of Massachusetts troops and was appointed adjutant at Cambridge under General Washington when he took command of the Revolutionary army. He held that rank in the Bristol regiment on the march to Warren, Rhode Island, where he was in service on that occasion from August 1 to 17, 1780.
