Couple feted on anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Long Sr. of Buttermilk Hill were recently honored at an open house on the occasion of their 40th wedding anniversary.
The event was held on the lawn of the Long home. The event was hosted by their children, Mary Ann Black, Sue Long, Ted Long Jr., all of Franklin, and Russell Long of Greenville.
The three-tiered cake was baked and served by Doris Lynn of Cochranton. The main table was centered with an arrangement of pink, yellow and ruby flowers.
Aides were Cyndi Gadley of Oil City, Brenda Glenn, Doris Lynn of Cochranton, and Wilma Long of Greenville. The guest book was in charge of Melanie Long, granddaughter of the honored couple.
The highlight of the afternoon was the parachute jump by William D. Wilt Jr. of Punxsutawney, nephew of the honorees.
Mrs. Long is the former Alma Snyder, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oakley E. Snyder of Buttermilk Hill. Mr. Long is the foster son of Mr. and Mrs. William Long of Hannaville. The couple was married July 13 1943, at the Sugarcreek Church by the Rev. Rollin Ferry.
Mr. Long is retired from Franklin Steel Co. and Mrs. Long is a retired bookkeeper.
Guests attended from Burleson, Texas; Meadville, Cochranton, Oil City, Punxsutawney, Greenville, Hannaville and Saegertown.
