General Notes: Husband - John P. Kilgore
He was educated in the public schools, and his entire life was identified with his native town. Beginning in 1898 he was identified with the Kilgore Bottling Company, and was its active manager until a few years before 1918, when he passed over to his son, Robert Kilgore, the responsibilities of that position. In 1916 he was elected sheriff of Westmoreland County, carrying a majority of 2630, as a Democrat, in the face of a normal adverse majority of several thousand.
