Mrs. Gladys F. Long, 95, of Main Street, Clarion, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 1994, in Allegheny Manor at Shippen­ville RD 1.
Mrs. Long was born in Au­gust 1898 and graduated in 1917 from Clarion High School.
She attended Clarion Normal School, now Clarion Universi­ty, where she received the first degree granted to a student in education.
She was married to Dr. Cus­ter Brenton Long, and he died Sept. 27, 1955.
Mrs. Long was a teacher in the Clarion schools.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Clarion, where she was active as the church organist and as a Sun­day School teacher. She also served on the church council.
Surviving are one niece, Georgene Long of Meadville; and three nephews, Norman Long of Meadville, Dr. Vaughn Long of Mercer and Robert E. Long of Knox.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Goble Funer­al Home, 330 Wood St., Clar­ion.
Funeral services will be con­ducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Harold O. Jacobson officiating.
Interment will follow in Sal­em Cemetery at Salem.
Memorial donations may be made to Grace Lutheran Church of Clarion or to the Clarion-Forest County Visiting Nurses Association.
