Sligo, Clarion Co, PA

Shortly after the inception of the civil war he enlisted for service in Company H, One Hundred and Fifty-fifth Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry, and was wounded in the battle of Petersburg, West Virginia. He saw hard service in many of the important battles of the civil war and was in the Union army for three years.
