General Notes: Husband - Isaac M. Kester

He was reared to and followed the occupation of farming, and in 1848 removed with his wife and five children to Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, purchasing 150 acres of partially improved land near Lumber City. There he erected a house, and made other substantial improvements during his residence, which covered a number of years. He then sold that property, and purchased what later became known as the David Young farm, of one hundred acres, whereon he passed the rest of his days.

He was born in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, and lived in Greenwood township, where he owned a farm of sixty-two acres. He was a Democrat and served in township offices at different times, being a school director and for eleven years a justice of the peace.
They were members of the Society of Friends.
