In addition to being an active participant in business with his brother, was active in church work, serving as treasurer of the Sunday school and of the Christian Endeavor Society for several years. He left Murrysville to aid his country, May 28, 1918, and became a member of Ambulance Company L at Camp Greenleaf, Chickamauga Park, Georgia.
