General Notes: Husband - Peter Johnson

His parents were emigrants from Ireland for the American colonies early in the eighteenth century, but died en route, leaving an infant son (Peter), who was born on shipboard. The orphaned babe was adopted by a German family of fellow passengers, who located near Reading, Pennsylvania, into which family he eventually married. [BDHRB, 616]

He emigrated to America from Germany early in the eighteenth century. He was a penniless runaway boy, ambitious of seeking his fortune in the new world, and became a stowaway in the vessel which brought him to the colonies. Upon his discovery aboard the vessel he was offered for sale by its captain, and being a strong, stalwart-looking lad, found a purchaser. He spent his life in eastern Pennsylvania. [BDHRB, 620]
