General Notes: Husband - C. A. Thorp


He attended school in Greenwood township or Bell township as it was then called, in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania, after which he spent many years following farming during the summer seasons and engaging in lumbering in the winter time. He was cultivating eighty acres of his farm and had fine pasturage for his stock.
In politics Mr. Thorp was a Democrat, and he served at least three terms as a justice of the peace. He was an active member of the Grange for 35 years or more.
