General Notes: Husband - Elijah Newon Keister
The early life of this man was spent on his father's farm, and after leaving the common schools in which his education was received, he was continuously engaged in agricultural pursuits, owning a valuable farm consisting of more than one-half of the old family homestead.
He served as tax collector and as school director and assessor several years. He was a member of the Presbyterian church at Murrysville, of which for a long time he was treasurer and one of the trustees. In politics Mr. Keister was a sterling democrat and a willing worker in the interests of his party.
