General Notes: Husband - Charles Frederick Ball

He was a graduate of Volant College in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania. He was afterward the principal of that institution for ten years, resigning to take up the study of law.

He attended Fredonia Institute, afterwards graduating at Volante College with his Bachelor's degree in the class of 1895, and taking a course at Mt. Union College, Ohio, and the State College, of Pennsylvania. He followed the profession of teaching, throughout his life, at first in the district, or rural, schools, until 1918. That year, Mr. Ball was chosen superintendent of schools for Lawrence County, and after he entered upon the duties of the office he was able to bring the system of teaching up to a high grade of efficiency, and many practical innovations were introduced and put into working order. Mr. Ball was a Republican in his political convictions, and by vote and influence he supported the principles of that party. His fraternal affiliations were with Mahoning Lodge, No. 243, Free and Accepted Masons, and the Knights Templar; the Knights of Pythias; and the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. His religious faith was that of the United Presbyterian Church.
