General Notes: Husband - Henry Keck
He left the common schools at the age of twenty years and served four years as clerk in a Pleasant Unity, Pennsylvania, store. During the next four years he was in company with his father at Murrysville running a general store, after which he spent three years at Rural Village, Armstrong County, and the same length of time at Lebanon, Indiana County. Returning to New Salem in 1860, he engaged with his father in the dry goods business, which he continued until 1884. In 1884 he, in company with Joseph Harvey and Dr. L. R. Metzgar, built a large woolen factory in Salem, which was in successful operation for some years. Mr. Keck was a member of the Presbyterian church for thirty-six years.
