General Notes: Husband - James Scroggs

When a young man he visited Scotland and while among the scenes of his ancestors wed his first wife, bringing her back to the Cumberland Valley home in 1768. Her relatives were acquainted with the Scroggs on both sides of the Atlantic, Matthew and Patrick Jack having early come to the Pennsylvania colony and settled in the Cumberland Valley.

He was a private in the company of Capt. William Pebbles and served through the Revolution.

In 1801 he moved to Washington County, Pennsylvania, and settled on a farm on Miller's run. He later removed to a tract of land on Raccoon Creek near the village of Candor in Washington County.
