General Notes: Husband - Jonas Cooper

He passed his boyhood and youth with his parents, attending school occasionally. When old enough he learned the trade of a tanner, and after the retirement of his father from active life conducted the tannery which the latter had established.
From his youth he was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In politics he was first an Old-line Whig, then a Republican, but later was a pronounced supporter of the Prohibition party.
