General Notes: Husband - John Freeman Menoher
He was born in Ligonier township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, and after obtaining his education in the public schools devoted his energies to the work of the old home farm until thirty years of age. He then entered upon an independent business career as proprietor of what later became known as the National Hotel, at Ligonier, where he remained three years. He then purchased the property which he established as the Menoher Hotel, where he built up a business that was a credit to the town as well as a good source of income to himself. He was one of the most popular hotel men in the valley. In connection with his hotel he conducted a livery stable. Mr. Menoher gave his political support to the Democratic party, and he was elected to the office of councilman for three terms, although the borough normally had a strong Republican majority. He belonged to Odd Fellows Lodge, No. 964, at Ligonier.
