There is conflicting information about this person in the sources.
Another source states that he was born in New Hampshire.

He and his wife came to Crawford County, Pennsylvania, in the spring of 1837, settling near Harmonsburg, by the inlet of the lake, and there remained until their deaths. [HCC 1885, 1087]

He was the first of this branch of the family to locate in Crawford County, Pennsylvania. He lived for a time in Pike, Allegany County, New York; after which, in 1837, he came to Crawford County, where he passed the remainder of his days. [GPHWP, 150]
