Mrs. Laura (Betty) Johnston, 60, of Cranberry RD 1, wife of Meade T. Johnston, died at 1:35 am Monday in Franklin Hospital.
She was born December 29, 1917, in Seneca, a daughter of Merrill and Effie Heckathorn Wingard.
She was married June 23, 1939, to Meade T. Johnston, who survives.
Mrs. Johnston formerly was employed by Straub's Do-Nut Shop in Titusvllle, and she also had been worked as a cook at the Villa Italla restaurant in Oil City.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four daughters, Sandra L. Robinson, Mrs. Daniel (Linda) Straub of Titusvllle RD 4, Barbara Treen of Cranberry RD 1 and Mrs. Samuel (Beth) Wren of Kenton, Ohio. Thirteen grandchildren also survive.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm today at the Charles A. Morrlson Funeral
Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the funeral home. Rev. Richard Saylor. pastor of Van United Methodist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery,
