General Notes: Husband - John Zediker

He was born on the family home place in South Strabane township, Washington County, Pennsylvania. In his boyhood he attended the subscription schools of the vicinity, in the winter time, while in the summer months he assisted his father in the duties of the farm.
He began life on the home place in South Strabane township, and afterward removed to another farm which later was the home of his sons. He was frequently intrusted with the business of others, and was always faithful to any confidence thus reposed in him. An ardent friend to educational progress, he was ever active in any enterprise tending to the improvement of the schools. He was equally enthusiastic in religious matters, as a leading member of the United Presbyterian Church at Pigeon Creek. In political opinions he was first a Whig, and after the formation of the Republican party, became actively identified with it. He served many years in the township as justice of the peace, being elected by an almost unanimous vote, although the Democratic party was in the majority in that locality.
