General Notes: Husband - Henry Kuhns
He was educated in the common schools of Unity township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. In 1850 he began farming for himself and for over half a century gave his exclusive attention and best endeavors to the duties of his chosen calling, six years in Derry township and the remainder of the time in the Ligonier valley. He was chosen to fill the offices of supervisor and school director, and in politics was a Republican. He and his family were members of the Lutheran church of Ligonier, in which for a number of years he served as elder and deacon.

She was born in Germany and at the age of seven years was brought to America by her parents.
