General Notes: Husband - David Rittenhouse Kuhn


He remained in Plum township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, where he received his education and later owned a grist mill there; he was also a justice of the peace for several years. After his marriage he moved to Pittsburgh and in 1849 built a grist mill on Collins avenue, in the East End, which he conducted twenty-five years or more, after which he sold out and engaged in the grocery business under the firm name of D. R. Kuhn & Son, which continued until the firm of Kuhn Brothers & Company was formed.
