General Notes: Husband - Adam Aughendobler
His mother died when he was eleven years of age, leaving but the one child. He remained at the home of his uncle in Bavaria after the death of his parents, and there learned the weaver's trade, and assisted on the farm. In 1852 he sailed for America, and after a voyage of seven weeks landed at Baltimore, Maryland. He then came to Washington, Pennsylvania, and worked on a farm for Major Millinger and James Stockdale. He married and in 1865 they came to Monongahela, where the family then resided. He was an active member of the Republican party, served as councilman, and for twenty-eight years or more was superintendent of the cemetery. He was identified with the Lutheran Church, which he served as elder.
