General Notes: Husband - James Port
With the exception of the years which he spent in Wisconsin-going in the spring of 1845, and returning in the fall of 1854-Mr. Port resided in Washington township, Erie County, Pennsylvania, settling on his farm in 1868.
He was a Democrat in politics until 1860, when he changed his views and voted for Abraham Lincoln for President; he was a stanch Republican thereafter.
