Thomas S. Jamison became a member of the executive board and potent in The Jamison Coal and Coke Company's affairs, but also had large business interests outside, being a director of the Merchants' Trust Company; was connected with the Westmoreland Grocery Company, and other companies of less importance.
He belonged to Greensburg Lodge, No. 518, Free and Accepted Masons; was a member of the Greensburg Country Club, the Oakmont Country Club, of Oakmont, and the Hannastown Golf Club. He was a communicant of the Second Reformed Church.

He was educated at the Kiskiminetas Spring School at Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, although the school proper was in Westmoreland County. He spent his early youth on his father's farm. Then entering the coal and coke business, he was for several years superintendent for the H. C. Frick Coal and Coke Company, at their Sewickley branch (a Frick subsidiary) of the Mutual Coke Company, in Westmoreland County. Then, when his father and brothers united with him in forming the Jamison Coal and Coke Company, he became the organization's superintendent, and later a member of the board of directors. Other business interests have led him to become vice-president of the First National Bank of Greensburg. He was a member of the Second Reformed Church and a charter member of Greensburg Lodge, No. 511, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. His devotion to golfing led him to become a member of several country and golf clubs. Interested in civic affairs, he was a member of the Greensburg City Council for four years.
