He attended the public school of Emlenton, Pennsylvania, and then went to North Washington schools; subsequently he took the course in dentistry at the Pittsburgh Dental College, being graduated therefrom with the degree of Doctor of Dental Surgery. Thereafter, in partnership with his brother, Dr. Edward C. King, he followed his profession with success, and became established in offices at No. 146 East State Street, Sharon, Pennsylvania.
Dr. King was a Republican in his politics, and was active in all his civic duties, but was not an office seeker. He was deeply interested in fraternal affairs, and was a member and from 1922 Past Master of Sharon Lodge, No. 668, Free and Accepted Masons; and of Sharon Chapter, No. 244, Royal Arch Masons. He belonged to the Rotary Club, and the Sharon Dental Association, while in his religious connection he was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
