General Notes: Husband - Francis I. Master

He was reared in Beaver township, Clarion County, PA, and at the early age of sixteen years began life for himself, engaging in building rigs for derricks for use in the oil fields. Next he was employed in oil pumping, and between these two occupa­tions he passed some fifteen or more years. In 1891 he began operating for himself. In that year he drilled his first well. He drilled some nine or more wells in that field, and was quite successful. In his polit­ical views he was a Democrat, and served his township as auditor. He was a member of the K. O. T. M., of Monroeville, and of the Royal Arcanum at St. Petersburg.
