General Notes: Husband - Longinus Walter

After his marriage Mr. Walter and his wife began housekeeping at Centreville, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, but it was not long before he returned to the family homestead, of which he took charge for three years, his father having died. In 1867 he purchased a portion of his father's estate, and thereafter cultivated it. The tract comprised 106 acres, and was well improved, Mr. Walter having built a handsome residence in 1893.
The family attended the United Evangelical Church. In politics Mr. Walter was a Republican, and he held various local offices. For many years he served as assessor, and he also did much to improve the educational facilities in his district while acting as school director.

She was a child when her parents settled in Limestone township, Union County, Pennsylvania.
