General Notes: Husband - Amos Lafayette Artman

He was taken by his parents when two years of age to live in the new house erected by his father on the old family property. Here he passed his childhood and grew to maturity, having been educated in the meanwhile at the local public schools.
After his marriage, Mr. Artman worked at his trade of carpenter, and spent some years with his father on the farm that he later came to own. He also made his home at Howellton Crossroads, about one mile north of the Artman farm. In 1896, however, he returned to the old place, which had at that time become his own possession, and resided there. For some years he then lived retired from active life, as his health had suffered a severe impairment and he was something of an invalid. He had been prominent in the affairs of the community for many years and held some minor local offices there.
