General Notes: Husband - James Wallace
Six-Mile Ferry, Allegheny Co, PA, on the Monongahela River
He was a farmer all his life, and owned the family homestead of two hundred acres. He also served as justice of the peace. In his younger days he was lieutenant of a volunteer company of cavalry for many years.
He was born on the old family homestead in Baldwin Township, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and all the days of his life were spent on that farm. He was thrifty and successful in his business, and made some additions to the paternal acres, which he inherited upon the death of his father. He served a number of years as Justice of the Peace. His property became very valuable, as it was underlaid with coal and was very accessible to the best market.
