General Notes: Husband - Christian Wurtz


In 1867 he moved to Franklin township, in Fayette County, Pennsylvania, where he purchased the old "Rankin" farm, at one time a prominent drovers' tavern stand, and there followed the business of farming and stock raising until his death.


General Notes: Wife - Susan Hyatt


She was born and reared in the Turkey-Foot or Jersey settlement in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. The grandparents of both her father and mother were pioneer setttlers in Somerset County, coming there from New Jersey shortly after Braddock's unfortunate expedition to Fort Duquesne.
