General Notes: Husband - John Simpson Patton
After a residence of a few years on the homestead farm, he was appointed collector of tolls on the canal at Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, moved there, remaining a few years, and then took up his residence in Kentucky, where he later died.
He was builder of a section of the Pennsylvania canal in 1831, and captain of one of the first boats to run on the canal to Philadelphia; collector of tolls on Juniata division of the canal.
