General Notes: Husband - John McCulloch

His parents removed from Scotland to the south of Ireland, where his father died when he was but six months of age [another source: six years of age]. He was the only child in the family. The McCollochs were United Presbyterians.

He came to Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, and settled in Mifflin township, but was subsequently removed to a farm east of Newville. He and his wife were the parents of eight children.

He emigrated from the North of Ireland, and settled in what is now Mifflin Township, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania, but afterward removed to a farm near Newville, which was long in the possession of some of his descendants. [HCC 1886, 520]

He was born in the North of Ireland, of Scotch descent, his father having come from Scotland some years before his birth and there settled permanently. His father's death ocurred when the son was but six months of age. John was an only child and grew up in his native region, and it was there that he enjoyed the somewhat meagre educational advantages to be had in that part of the world at that time. [ONW, 49]
