General Notes: Husband - George Washington Mays
He engaged in mill-ing at Pine Run, Richland Township, Pennsylvania, in 1848, where he built the first and only mill on that stream. In 1880, he bought the site of Old Sandy Mill, in Sandycreek Township, where he built Mays Mill. It was one of the oldest milling sites in Venango County. He operated this as long as he was able.
