General Notes: Husband - William A. Poole

---

He was reared on his father's farm and remained at home till his father's death. In 1840 he began life for himself as a farmer on one of his father's farms, where he remained until 1877 when he sold it and bought another near Tarr's station on the S. W. P. R. This farm was nicely located and underlaid with an excellent vein of coal.
He was a democrat, took an active part in the affairs of his party and was a member of the M. E. church, as was also his wife.
Mr. Poole believed in the saying of Byron, "There is a pleasure in the pathless woods," and found abundant enjoyment in the solitude of country life.
