General Notes: Husband - James Burton Askey

He was a volunteer in the Spanish-American War; promoted from Private to Corporal. He was in the hospital at Charleston, SC, from July 15th to September 9th, 1898, with typhoid fever which permanently inured his health. He was mustered out of the Army with his regiment at Franklin, PA, on December 29, 1898.
