He was a merchant at Dayton, Ohio. He was a man of prominence in the community in which he lived and was very successful in business. He was the first president of the Keefer Family Association and presided over the first Keefer reunion, held on the old Keefer homestead, then occupied by William S. Keefer, June 25, 1887.
