Merle O. Surrena
Merle O. Surrena, Eau Claire Road, Harrisville, died at 1:05 a.m. Monday (4-5-99) in his home after a lengthy illness. He was 70.
Mr. Surrena was born June 8, 1928 in Marion Township, Butler County, to Harry H. and Wildia B. Mortland Surrena.
A sergeant in the US Air Force, he became an oiler at Allegheny Mineral, Harrisville, for nine years, retiring in 1990.
He was a Protestant.
Surviving, besides his wife, the former Lillian I. Plum, whom he married July 19, 1969, are: three daughters, Sherri L. McGuire, Silver Springs, Md.; Mari C. Mincey, Clarksville, Ga.; and Mrs. Steven (Debra A.) Burgard, Pembroke Pines, Fla.; a son, Michael M., Royal Palm, Fla.; two sisters, Mertle E. Simons; and Marie J. Webster, both Grove City; two brothers, Daniel E., Slippery Rock; and Claude E., Butler; and eight grandchildren.
Mr. Surrena was preceded in death by a sister; and four brothers.
Funeral service was in Jamison Funeral Home, Harrisville, with the Rev. Willard S. Morse, pastor of Harrisville United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial in Clintonville Methodist Cemetery, Clintonville.
