Laughlinstown, Westmoreland Co, PA

He was born on the farm which had been for four generations in the possession of the family and where he spent the greater part of his life, giving his entire attention to agricultural pursuits. August 9, 1862, he enlisted for nine months in Company G, One Hundred and Thirty-fifth Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. After serving his time he reenlisted and served one year. He held various township offices, and in politics was a Republican.
