General Notes: Husband - William Hunter
He was two years old when he left Ireland [with his parents] in 1767. He inherited the large tract of land which his father patented in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. He was a federalist and belonged to that school of politicians founded by Alexander Hamilton. He was commissioned justice of the peace by Governor Snyder and held that office until 1822, when he died in the fifty-seventh year of his age.
