General Notes: Husband - William T. Seanor
When twenty-one years of age, he rented the farm adjoining that which later belonged to him, where he remained for six years, and then rented his later house for three years from his father-in-law, Jacob Kepple. In the year 1885 he bought the property consisting of one hundred and seventy acres, and afterwards erected there fine farm buildings, including a barn fifty by ninety-four feet in dimensions and twenty-two feet high, with basement room for fifty head of cattle; a dairy, twenty-five by thirty feet, and all the other outbuildings required for the operation of the farm. In the year 1882 he built a handsome residence on the property, and in 1895, after the destruction of his barn by fire, put up a still larger and more modern structure.
At one time, when he required timber for the various structures which he was erecting on his property, he put up and employed a saw mill of his own. From that time he continued to operate saw mills for a period amounting to something above twenty years, and in that time worked up a large and remunerative business, disposing of the product of his mills in the communities around about, which were growing rapidly. For part of the time he kept two of these mills in operation constantly. In this venture he was in partnership with his brother and they conducted a very large lumbering business.
Mr. Seanor was elected in the year 1915 one of the road supervisors of Salem township.
