General Notes: Husband - William Coulter Arner

He obtained a public school education in Washington Township, Butler County, PA, and then engaged in farming. His fifty acres were all under cultivation and the land responded readily to the care given it. Four veins of coal were also found underlying his fields. Mr. Arner also had other interests, having developed a very profitable enterprise in the line of photography. He learned the photograph business after he had finished school and after his marriage instructed his wife and together they turn out a large amount of beautiful and artistic work. He worked in studios at Butler and at Findlay, Ohio. He had about $300 invested in cameras and other necessary equipment and his work compared favorably with that done in a city studio.
He and his wife were members of the English Lutheran Church at Annandale. In politics, he was identified with the Republican party. [HBC 1909, 1412]
