The name "Hugus" is of French origin and was brought to America by three brothers, who came from France early in the eighteenth century. These three brothers settled in different parts of the colony, one settling in Brown [sic] County, Pennsylvania. It is not known positively whether it was he or one of his descendants to remove from that region to Westmoreland County.
