He was the owner of a farm near Ramaleys Mill, [Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania].
He followed the occupation of farming all his life, on a farm adjoining his father's. He was a staunch Democrat, and in religious matters was a consistent member of the Reformed church.
His death occurred on the old farm when he was more than eighty years of age.
