General Notes: Husband - Henry L. McCarthy


He lived for many years in West Kishacoquillas valley, and afterwards removed to Huntingdon, Pennsylvania, where he died. He served one term as county commissioner, and many years as justice of the peace, and was well known as a careful and competent surveyor. He had not enjoyed the advantages of a liberal education, and yet the accuracy of his knowledge of literature and of a number of the sciences was something remarkable. As a Christian, he was a member of the Presbyterian church, in which he served as an elder.

He was a native of Mifflin County, Pennsylvania, but most of his life was passed in HuntingdonCounty. For many years he was a teacher and surveyor. He was a Republican, and filled the office of county commissioner and other public positions in Huntingdon County. He was a member of the West Kishacoquillas Presbyterian church, in which he served for a number of years as elder.
