General Notes: Husband - Elisha Houk

---

He was reared on the home place and attended the schools of that district. He always followed agricultural pursuits, and attained a high degree of success. He always lived on the same farm, and in 1878 erected a home and the substantial barn and other outbuildings.
Religiously he and his wife were members of the Harmony Baptist Church. In political affiliation Mr. Houk was a Democrat, and served his township two years as overseer of the poor.
